CLOSING DATE APPROACHING FOR MAJOR PIANO AWARD
Feb 2007 |
As the deadline approaches for entries to the Norah Sande Award for young adult pianists, Kodo Osado, the winner of the inaugural award in 2006 urged others to enter. “Winning the Norah Sande Award was definitely one of the most rewarding experiences of my performing career” he said. “The whole organisation and the atmosphere of the competition was very friendly and comforting, and I never felt the unpleasant competitive tension that abounds in some competitions. I was not only offered a very generous amount of cash prize from winning the Award, but it also led to a recital opportunity in the prestigious and beautiful Huntingdon Peforming Arts Centre. I really hope that the competition will continue to help musicians in their careers as much as it has done mine”, continued Kodo.
An increased prize value has been announced for the second Norah Sande Award. The winner of the competition which takes place on 14th and 15th July 2007 in Eastbourne, East Sussex will receive a cheque for £3000 and the opportunity of a recital, with £1000 for the runner up and £500 for the third prize.
